COOLX SR-96U is a urethane-based elastomeric coating specially designed for maximum solar radiation and offers the perfect combination of color purity, flexibility, and UV & corrosion protection even when exposed to a variety of harsh climatic and chemical environments reflectance and weather protection. The reflective value of this product helps to reduce interior temperatures and protects structures by reducing heat absorption and rapid thermal dimensional changes. It also decreases the chance of excessive loads placed on cooling equipment, therefore, extending the service life of the system.

COOLX SR-96U reduces summer cooling costs, reduces peak energy usage, and helps reduce pollution, fossil fuel usage, landfill, and extends the lifespan of the building or structure.


Conventional pigmented paint can absorb 60-95% of the sun’s infrared heat. Our solar reflective coating has been shown to reflect 40-90% of the infrared heat and is well suited for any application where a minimized solar heating load is desired. The coating can be applied to a variety of surfaces and can be pigmented into any color (adding color can reduce solar reflectivity). A list of typical applications includes the following:

Unlike many other specialized coatings, COOLX SR-96U is easy to apply and clean up.  It begins with a clean surface which is essential for proper adhesion. All surfaces should be free of dirt, grease, and other unsound accumulations. The application surface should be prepped with a solvent based cleaner (I.e. TSP) to remove any organic matter and oils from the surface. After cleaning, the surface should be rinsed with water and allowed to fully dry before SR-96 is applied.

  • All surfaces should be clean, dry and free of all foreign contaminants.
  • Steel: Can be applied directly to metal
  • Aluminum: Apply over approved primer
